On an overcast LA Memorial Day
I wondered what to give away.
We were joining some families in the park
To picnic and play till it got dark.
We sat and ate and drank together
Despite the strangely cool springtime weather
The kids had a great time running around
Instead of being indoor and device-bound.
I sifted through drawers of plastic knick-knacks
And found things we picked up many years back
I filled a cauldron with these little toys
And gave them away to the girls and boys.
I hope the toys gave the kids a smile.
Sorry, parents, to add to your junk pile!
nice one. the poem and the day š
