A poem for Ella, graduating from 5th Grade at Ivanhoe Elementary School, Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
Lovely Ella, daughter of my friend,
Your Ivanhoe days have come to an end.
On today, your graduation day,
I choose you for my Giveaway.
If people thought that you’re just pretty,
That would be an awful pity.
You’re talented and you are kind,
And you have a clever mind.
At times this year you felt unwell,
But still you managed to excel.
You did good work and had lots of fun,
And were a friend to everyone.
I hope you like my gift to you.
It’s a handbag of satin in dark blue.
It will look elegant on your arm
As you become a young lady full of charm.
